Modelling pictures can be very expensive and you should be very careful when making your decision as to whether you pay for images or try and get started with what you have. This being said, you must bare in mind that in reality, if you are new to the industry, having simple snap shots may limit the type and volume of work agencies are able to submit you for.
We generally say, if you have what it takes to make it in the industry, you should not have to pay vast sums of money to have professional model portfolios produced, clients will be able to get a general idea of your look and suitability from clear simple model head shots. There are many companies out there desperate to offer you a free shoot, then charging you hundreds of pounds to purchase the images.
Every day we are sent images from people who have used these companies, many of them try and style you like a catwalk model, doing your hair and make up so outrageous, the images are of no use in the commercial modelling environment.
This being said, we recognize that many artistes starting out, will at least need a few, good, professional modelling photos in which to start to promote themselves. For commercial modelling, a good selection of shots for modelling portfolios to start with would be:
A couple of good clear model head shots, with simple, natural make up, looking into the Camera
A smile... showing your teeth
A full length shot, showing your posture and style
A casual relaxed shot
By no means can you gain full comprehensive model portfolios from one shoot, professional modelling portfolios grow over time and should consist of a variety of work shot in different environments at different times with different products. However, this will provide you with a good set of printed images and will mean you can be marketed equally alongside professional, commercial artists and will give you some experience and materiel in which to attend commercial castings.
2 hour photo shoot (£250 includes studio hire, arrangement fee & photographers fee)
Hair & make up artist additional cost of: £30
This is optional & will add half an hour to your photo session.
Images will be shot against a white background.
You will get a selection of images which will include:
- full length
- head & shoulders
- 3/4 length shot
- seated shot on white box or floor
Feel free to bring a change of outfit.
You will then be able to view & select your images on a web page provided by the photographer.
They will be accessible for 1 month post shoot, and can be purchased from the photographer directly.

Rights to the images remains with Ian Parsons Photography purely for the avoidance of copy write or resale, however you are at liberty to use the images supplied to you at any time hereafter for means of promotion for employment or general use. These images must not be sold on at any time to any third party or used for commercial advertising by anyone without Ian Parsons permission. Fresh Agents shall be provided with a sample of images should you wish them to be used to market yourself on our website.
Payment & Cancellation
Full payment for the shoot must be received by Fresh Agents x1 week prior to the shoot in order for us to be able to confirm the other bookings for that day and book the studio, photographer and make up artist. You may pay by cheque, postal order, cash or direct to our bank account.
Please make all cheques and postal order payment to Fresh Agents Ltd. Alternatively, you may wish to pay us directly into our bank. Please contact us for our bank account details.
We regret that at this point in time we are unable to receive credit card payments.
If for any reason you cannot make it, please inform us 48 hours in advance to enable us to make other arrangements and re schedule your appointment. We regret that if you are not able to inform us within this time, we will have to charge you full cancellation.
